Are you a change agent? Are you a difference-maker?
That’s who I want to be every day. When I wake up in the morning, and part of my meditation, I ask God to help me be a difference-maker. I re-center myself around the idea that everything I do during the day should come out of me being a social and change agent. you
I bet that’s what you want to be too. you There are five core values that you need to be a difference-maker. Remember, all changes you would like to see happen in your surroundings begin with you.
Here are five core values that you need to be a difference-maker. Remember, all changes you would like to see happen in your surroundings begin with you.
First Core Value: Self-worth
The first core value is self-worth. [bctt tweet=”Your self-worth does not depend on your surroundings.” username=””via PasteurEmmanuel””]
Your self-worth comes out of who you truly are and were made for.
God formed you from inside out. He worked on every single detail of who you are now. Therefore, who you should look like is only found in God. (Psalm 139:13-15).
Not only God formed you before even you were born. But, He also has had a plan for you and has appointed you to the life you have with a mission.
He cares for you just as you are that He will not even let you be tempted beyond what you can handle (1 Corinthians 10:13).
God was willing to give up His only Son for your sake (John 3:16). Do you see how worthy you are in God’s eyes?
So, don’t let anything or anyone take that away from you.
Second Core Value: Self-Perception
The second core value you need to become a change agent is self-perception. God has prepared works just for you to walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).
Do not be conformed to this world. Aim at doing what is the will of God for your life because that’s why you are here in this world (Romans 12:2).
[bctt tweet=”You were made in God’s image to live a Holy-Spirit-empowered life (Acts 1:8).” username=””via PasteurEmmanuel””]
That’s who you are and should be the only way you see and think of yourself because you’re a child of God (John 1:12).
Third Core Value: Self-Talk
Another core value to make you a change agent or a difference-maker is self-talk.
Our talk always comes from what we think about ourselves. Your self-talk is dependent on what you think about yourself: self-perception.
Think and talk about yourself as someone who’s lovely, commendable and excellent.

Fourth Core Value: Self-Confidence
The next core value to help you be a change agent is self-confidence, which is a result of self-worth, self-perception, and self-talk.
God’s promises for being with you always should represent the foundation of your confidence.
Your self-confidence comes out of what God has done for you:
- God has changed your heart and renewed your mind.
- God has filled you up with His Spirit (because your body is the temple of the Holy Spiri, see Corinthians 6: 19).
- God has equipped you with spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
First Core Value: Self-Discipline
Lastly, self-discipline is another core value you need in order to become a change agent.
Through faith in Christ, God has introduced you into a way of life that’s pleasing to Him. God has also empowered you to live this kind of life.
This lifestyle should be organic. It should flow out of your love for God and what God has been doing in your life.
Being a temple of the Holy Spirit, you then have the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5: 22).
It is the fruit of the Spirit that shapes your character, behavior, and personality. And, not the other way round.
What you have to do though is to stay connected to the true vine (John 15:1-17). This is where self-discipline comes into play.
But, this is simply practicing: prayer, daily reading of scripture and a life of communion. You do it on your own and also with other people (Church, small groups, friends, etc.).
Change truly begins with you as you work on your self. It is that inner transformation, which will be replicated around you.
Yes, it is by doing so that more lives will also be transformed, one person at a time. As a result, you will be a difference-maker every where you are.
