Be Patient

“Patience” is another attitude to help you overcome fear and anxiety!

I love what Joyce Meyer said once: patience isn’t the ability to wait. It’s the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.”

That’s it!

Let’s take a look at Psalm 37: 7-9. This scripture may help us get a sense of what I think we should understand patience and how it can help us overcome fear,

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

There are several things the Psalter can teach us based on the above passage. Even though it’s hard to grasp an understanding of the context in which he wrote this scripture, I’d say there are four themes out of this scripture:

      • Be still (verse 7a).
      • Wait patiently (verse 7b).
      • Patience comes out of Relationship (verse 7 – see “before the Lord” and “for God”.
      • Reward (see verse 9 – “inherit the land…”).

In this video, I go in depth explaining:

    • What stillness means.
    • How to reach a state of stillness.
    • Why we need to do it in the context of our relationship with God.
