Is Church Failing You? And, What Do You Do About It?

In this video (Facebook Live), I talk about what to do when you feel that the Church is failing you.

I share four tips, I believe, can help you to answer the two questions.

Also, it’s been a while I haven’t gone live on Facebook. I am now back.

Here are my four tips that will help you frame your personal way to address the question of whether the Church has been failing you or not, and how to respond to it.

You are not fighting against flesh and blood

Don’t fight against flesh and blood (or people) to resolve issues.

Read Ephesians 6: 12.

Choose, instead, to continue deepening your relationship with Jesus Christ and your neighbor.

There’s more to what, which explains human behavior (flesh and blood). Much of what governs us comes out of what’s spiritual (mind and spirit).

Faith, being at the core of all our values, is a spiritual and mental activity, which in turn, defines our behavior and personality.

What is the Church? What is Church for you?

Read 1 Corinthians 12.

The Church isn’t just a denomination, but the body of Christ.

So, the Church we all represent is more than just an institution. It’s much bigger than that. So, you’re a member of Christ’s body through your local Church.

In other words, a denomination is human-made. But, the church of Christ is God made.

That’s why Jesus said to Peter that “I’m going to build my church on you, the rock.” It is Jesus Christ building the church. It’s not younger people. It’s not millennials. It’s not older people. It’s not theologians on their own.

Are you a member of Christ’s Church? Or are you a member of your family’s church?

I’m not implying here that there is anything wrong with belonging to your parents or family’s church.

What I would like you to focus on is there is more to your Church. And, you’re first a member of Christ’s Church through your family.

When you know that you belong to the body of Christ through this local Church where you belong, it’s going to help you stay with your community of believers.

The reason is that you know Christ has called you to belong to this current community.

Where is God calling you to serve? Where is God calling you to belong?

The last thing, I believe, which can help you is to answer these two questions:

    • Where is God calling me to serve?
    • Where is God calling me to belong?

The ability to answer the above questions will help you frame the reason why you serve Christ through your current Church.

Thank you so much, and please remember to share this post and video with somebody else.
