[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Jesus is the UnBreakable Love of God! It’s the second in the series, following Jesus Christ: The UnBreakable Hope

It’s the kind of love we should go for in life. This form of love is UnBreakable. No one can destroy. Nothing can kill it.

What is God’s Love?

It is a very good question, but whose answer we only find in the Bible. The term love, in the Bible has a variety of interpretations.

All that is due to the fact that the Bible was not originally written in English. It was written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.

So, how the term in the original text is translated into our contemporary languages may vary.

Let’s take a look at the Old Testament.

The word love in Biblical Hebrew comes out of “Ahava”. That’s how we read the word love in Hebrew.

The word has two parts. The first part has one letter and the second two letters. In this language, people refer to the first (remember that in Hebrew, you are reading from right to left) as the modifier. The second part of the word “Ahava” has two letters and people refer to it as the root.

The root and the modifier put together, even though it stands for love, also means “I give.” So, if you read the entire Old Testament, God’s actions are means God is using to give.

God expresses God’s love through God’s acts of judgment and redemption.

Looking at love from the perspective of love being an act of giving changes how we love God and each other.

So far, we have looked at love from the Hebrew text. Let us see what the word means in Greek, the language of the original text in the New Testament.

Let’s take a look at the New Testament.

In Greek, there are four words that talk about love. The first one is Φιλω (Phileō).

This Greek word is about affection and fondness. It is what helps you respond to kindness, appreciation or love.

This type of love can collapse in a time of crisis. It is sometimes used in the New Testament to mean agape, which is another type of love we read about in the Greek Bible.

γάπη or γαπάω (Agapē or Agapaō) is the second type of love we find in the New Testament.

This kind of love if that of esteem and evaluation. It is the noblest form of love. It delights in giving. Agape is that love, which does not give up on people even when they are not responding as they should. Most people refer to Agape as unconditional love.

In John 3: 16 and other Scriptures, the Greek word for love is translated as agape. It refers to God’s love for humankind.

The third is Στοργή (Storgē).

This form of love, even though very often used, has to do with natural affection or obligation. It deals mostly with people or things, to which we get attached: wife, husband, child, pet, etc.

The last Greek word for love in the New Testament is Εροσ (Eros).

You may have probably heard of this form of love. It is about passion, which leads to pleasure or entertainment. It is more about what I should get out of what I want. If I get nothing, there is an experience of bitterness or resentment.

Eros makes you love someone or something because of a few characteristics you see in them.

It also anticipates pleasure you get out of them.

If there is loss of characteristics you saw early, you stop from loving. That then makes eros a conditional love unlike agape, which is unconditional.

What is God’s Love?

God’s love is Agape Love.

John 3:16 sums it up as follows,

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. ESV.

The word for love in Greek in this Scripture is agape. The action for God to send His only Son is that kind of love that makes do everything in power to help somebody.

It is the unconditional love of God. “God so loves the world” means that God loves every human being, and at all time.

It also stands for the fact that anyone from anywhere in time and space can receive and experience God’s Agape Love.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3: 16. ESV.

God’s love in the New Testament translates from Greek into English as Agape. It is unconditional love, which made God do what God did for us through Jesus Christ.

But, what does all that mean for us today?

God’s Love means God’s abundant love, which translates into  the following:

  • Life-giving passion.
  • Restoration to who we were created to be.
  • Christ the Life of the world.
  • Gifts of price as the only evidence of affection.

God’s Love as Life-Giving Passion

God expressed God’s love as life-giving and as a passion.

Let’s start with life-giving.

God’s Love consists of two things: giving and life.

You cannot claim to love if you don’t give. Giving is a very important component of love. That’s exactly what God showed to humankind. God gave up His own Son for our sake.

Also, notice that God giving of His Son was not for Him or Jesus. God did the giving of His Son for humans.

Giving is therefore not about the giver, but the receiver. It is a way to express love you have for the one who will be receiving whatever you give them.

Whether it is around Christmas or any time during the year, remember that giving is about the receiver.

It should not be about you who gives. You give to show the receiver that you care for them.

God gives us life!

The gift of life comes out of God’s love.

  • First, through our parents, you and I are here today.
  • Secondly, through God, and based on John 3: 16, we receive eternal life from God.

Physical life, you have, or otherwise you would not be reading this book, is a gift from God, which can break. You probably know this, I guess. Every human being ends up dying some day, in case you have not noticed yet.

Eternal life, on the other hand, does not end. It is a gift that you receive now. But, you have got to choose it.

How do you receive eternal life? Also, how do you know you have it?

You receive eternal life through Jesus Christ. He is the only UnBreakable gift of Life from God for everyone.

The only thing that helps us receive eternal life is faith. Remember that it is not about the simple act of believing. You also need to receive Jesus Christ into your heart.

So, when you believe and then receive Jesus Christ, you become a child of God, and thus receive eternal life (also see John 1: 12).

You know that you have eternal life by faith. There is no other way to experience the UnBreakable gift of Life we receive from God’s Love.

God’s Love Restores US to What We Were Created to Be

God’s UnBreakable Love does one primary thing in our lives. God’s gift of Love gives us life: Eternal life.

But, what does Eternal life imply?

It implies two things.

God claims us back as God’s children.

Read John 1: 12. Yes, that is what happens after we believe and receive Jesus Christ.

We become children of God. In other words, we receive the right and power to become God’s sons and daughters. What this means is you first receive the right or power.

You receive it, not from humans, but God. Human beings can give you a right and power today. They can, however, take it away when you do not abide by what you agree upon in the beginning.

Next, the right and power you receive enable you to become a child of God.

Out of faith and the act of inviting Jesus Christ into your life, God immediately gives you the right and power to become God’s son or daughter.

What this means is you don’t fully become the best “you” over night. It is a process that may take a lifetime to be complete.

God makes you a new creation.

Once you believe and invite Jesus Christ into your life, you are a new creation. Read 2 Corinthians 5: 17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. ESV.

New creation is our state of being (spirit, soul, mind and body) that humans have lost since Adam and Eve.

Jesus Christ coming into the world was for the purpose of enabling us to claim back this state of being.

Remember that it’s not something you just get on your own. God gives it to us. The Bible tells us that

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1: 12. ESV.

[clickToTweet tweet=”Claiming back what we were created to be is God’s work.” quote=”Claiming back what we were created to be is God’s work.” theme=”style2″] God gives us power and the ability to get it back.

All this happens as a result of receiving Jesus Christ and believing in His name

God gives you abundant life.

The devil (the enemy of God) came to steal, destroy and kill what God intended you to be and have.

Jesus, however, came to save and give us life, and abundant life.

Read John 10: 10,

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. ESV.

God’s Love is the Evidence of God’s Affection and Grace

God’s UnBreakable Love enables us to experience the evidence of God’s affection and grace.

God’s grace is key to everything we desire and need in life.

Why would you need God’s grace?

Well, look around. Don’t you see that you need help?

There are things you can do. There are also others you truly can’t.

Of course, I’m not suggesting that you only need God for things you can’t handle.

No, what I’m saying is that what you can’t do points out to your limitations. You’re a creature, just as I am.

If you’re a creature, there’s Someone much Bigger than all of us. And, this is GOD. HE is the source of all life, energy and power. God can change everything and everyone. But, nothing or no one can change God.

Do you realize that you need GOD?

God’s grace is the only thing that allows us to draw closer to God, and eventually experience God’s presence in our lives.

God made it possible through Jesus Christ, the UnBreakable Love of God.

Anyone, and from anywhere, can approach God and experience God through faith in Jesus Christ.

To experience God’s grace, you only have to invite Jesus Christ to walk with you in your everyday living!

In Conclusion

Jesus Christ in the UnBreakable Love of God. Through faith in Jesus, God claims you back and you recover your identity as God’s children. When you believe in Jesus’ name and receive Jesus in your heart, you experience God’s grace. God’s grace empowers you to walk with God on a daily basis.
