Christ's Death and Resurrection Means You Are A New Creation!

Yes, Christ is risen, and that’s why you are a new creation!

But what does that mean?

First, the death and resurrection of Jesus, which we celebrate as Easter today, is the core of who we are as the Christian community.

What does his death and resurrection truly mean to you?

How do you translate that historical event into something that makes you a better human being?

Let me ask: If Jesus did not come to make us better people, what’s the point of believing in his death and resurrection?

Some of Jesus’s first words, recorded in the Bible, were that his life, ministry, and, more importantly, his death and resurrection say that through Christ, we will experience new birth (John 3:3).

In Paul’s view, faith in Christ makes us a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). According to Galatians 5:25, that is a life led by God’s Spirit.

All of the above means that faith in Christ makes us free from sin (Romans 6:22), and as a result, death has no power over us.

The point is Christ coming back to life was simple proof that those who choose to follow him as their Lord and Savior, also have power over death.

In other words, we have eternal life and will not perish even when this physical body dies (John 3:16).

The point of Easter isn’t only to celebrate his death and resurrection but also to show the world that it’s possible to become a new creation.

It’s possible to start afresh as a better human being whose life is grounded in God’s Word and Holy Spirit-led.
