Prayer and How It Benefits You When Done Constantly

By now, I guess you already know that I am all about prayer. Every week, I push out a prayer encouraging you to use it as you go through the week.

In this article, I want to share with you five benefits you will get out of making prayer a constant thing you do on a daily basis.

Prayer Helps You to Re-center

Life throws so many things at us with demands that pull us in all directions.

When you choose to pray, what happens is that you draw closer to God through Christ. In other words, and if we use John 15, you are actually claiming back your place as one of the branches.

Doing so reconnects you to the Vine that is Jesus Christ. And, as you reconnect to Christ, two things happen:

  • You bear much much fruit.
  • You can do all things.

Read these words from Jesus Himself:
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15: 5).

Prayer Helps You Handle Life's Challenges

When you make prayer a constant practice, your focus switches from what you go through.

As stated earlier, once you look at prayer as a way to reconnect to the Vine, it organically shifts your focus from everything else to Jesus Christ.

The practice of prayer also means:

  • You come to Jesus with all. your worries and burdens (Matthew 11:28)
  • You cast all your anxiety on Christ who cares for you (1 Peter 5:7)

All that means you let God have His Way in your life and handle all your battles.

It’s to stop fighting, but let God fight for you (Exodus 14:14).

Prayer Benefits You Spiritually, Mentally, Emotionally and Physically

A life of constant prayer benefits you spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.

As I stated earlier, when you connect to the Vine that is Jesus Christ, you pretty much do it as a spiritual exercise.

It’s how we stay connected to the source of everything we need in life.

Staying connected to the Vine will allow you to bear this kind of fruit (Galatians 5:22-23):

  • Love
  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Patience
  • Kindness
  • Goodness
  • Faithfulness
  • Gentleness
  • Self-control

All of them affect our emotional, mental, and spiritual states of being.

They also affect us physically indirectly, and allow us to remember that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19).

Prayer Is a Discerning Tool Helping You Make Wiser Choices in Life

A constant Prayer life helps you discern how to make wiser decisions in life.

And, you do it first choosing to be in the right place, which comes out of a result of making Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Doing so makes you a member of God’s flock according to John 10.

The following happens when you do the above:

  • You learn how to listen better.
  • You start and deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • God’s plan becomes a reality in your life, as a result. You become

Prayer Turns You Into A Winner

Every time you pray, God turns you into a winner. Here’s why:

Praying engages God to act on your behalf. Nothing or no one can stand against you because you have God on your side.

Yes, no one will be able to stand against you because God walks with you when you invite Him to do so through prayer (Deuteronomy 11:25).

Also, nothing or no one will ever separate you from God’s love (Romans 8:31-39).

In Conclusion

There you go. Prayer can do so much for you. When you make it a regular and daily practice, you will benefit a lot from it on all levels of your life. Start now by using some of the weekly prayers on my Youtube Channel.
