5 Ways To Help You Stand Out As A Christian

Christians are not to “fit in” but to “stand out!”

But, how is that even possible in our today’s society where the idea of Church (or being Christian) has been pushed to the edge of our culture?

I, personally, think that Jesus didn’t come to us to give us a label. His coming into the world wasn’t to make us Christians, Methodists, Presbyterians, Catholics, Pentecostal, and more.

Jesus came to re-create us by making us into a new creation. He reconciled us to Himself and God, our Father. (2 Corinthians 5: 17).

We are ambassadors for Christ with the purpose of helping others be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5: 20.

It is an inner victory and freedom you receive by faith in Christ.

The point isn’t about how we pray or read the Bible, or what we have at our Church. What we have and do represents features or programs a congregation can provide for people.

But, the question is: what do people benefit from what you have and do?

What makes us stand out isn’t only about what we have or do.

How do we then become instrumental in changing people’s lives?

The five ways below are just what you and I need to stand out as Christians.

Below, I offer five ways that can help us stand out as Christians.

A Christian is an Encourager

There is always someone who needs encouragement around you. You don’t need to be an expert for you to encourage somebody.

Give them a hands-up by helping them gain confidence that they can do anything.

Provide support whenever you can to help them achieve their goals in life.

If possible, connect them to resources they may need: coach, spiritual mentor, pastor, etc. You can also invite them to join you for Church.

A Christian is Hopeful

Being hopeful is a daily choice you make by believing that better days are ahead.

[bctt tweet=”Move away from the scarcity mentality.” username=””]

This attitude makes you think that what you have now is all that there is. Instead, keep with you the abundant mindset, knowing that the source of abundant life (opportunities) never runs out.

[bctt tweet=”God is our source for everything in life. He always makes a way for His children!” username=””]

All things will work out for you (Romans 8:28). And, you have all that it takes to make things work through the strength you find in Jesus Christ (Philippians 4: 13).

A Christian is a Servant

A Christian is a servant, which is another trait that helps you stand out in the community.

[bctt tweet=”A servanthood attitude is the only foundation that will help you find meaning and fulfillment in life.” username=””]

Being a servant isn’t something that only has to do with what you do at your Church or on a mission trip. Serving goes beyond what you sign up for at your Church or any organization where you want to help.

You are a servant through every single role you play in life: husband, wife, friend, student, child, teacher, doctor, nurse, food processor, citizen, and so forth. Anything you do represents an opportunity for serving others.

Your Life is about serving God and others. Serving has been proven to be the best way to find meaning and purpose.

A Christian is an Inspiration

Your words and actions are tools to help someone get inspired. The way you talk matters because it can either uplift someone or not.

Use your conversations, in person or not (text, social media, etc.), to brighten somebody’s life.

Share what inspires you with others.

A Christian is a Role Model

A Christian is an imitator of Jesus Christ Who represents the only Way, Truth, and Life, according to John 14:6.

In other words, it is only in Christ; we find the answers to these existential questions: Who am I? Why am I here for? How do I get where I should be in life?

[bctt tweet=”How we live on a daily basis should direct other people to practical life’s answers through faith in Jesus Christ. ” username=””]

What will empower your daily living though are these three spiritual disciplines: prayer, Bible reading, and communion with other Christians. They will help you maintain your connection to the Divine (God through the power of the Holy Spirit).

You become a role model as a result of allowing the Holy Spirit to dwell in you entirely. And, when you do so, you will master your emotions and feelings. You will also be able to manage other people’s emotions and feelings as well as all your relationships. (Galatians 5: 22).

Bringing it together

You can stand out as a Christian. But, it has to start with how you design your day. Designing your daily routine is key to helping you stand out. Doing so, you become an encourager, you spread hope, serve, inspire and become a role model at work, in your family, and in the community.

So, what are other ways, which I didn’t mention in the post, you think can make a Christian stand out? Please, leave me a comment.
