There’s Always Hope

This article is to let you know that there’s always hope in life. Don’t give up yet, please. But, first read the following lines, and remember to share this post with somebody else.

Something Will Affect Your Sense of Hope

In life, whether we like it or not, there will always be something that will kill or alter our sense of hope.

It could be anything from loss, change, or going through some transitions, which will challenge your sense of hope.

Sometimes your emotional, mental, and spiritual state of being can also influence your sense of hope.

The state in which you are, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, has some impact on whether you feel hopeful or not.

What Should Be the Source of Your Hope

Anything can be the source of your hope. The nature the source of your hope has will determine how lasting your hope may be.

So, being clear about the source of your hope is very important.

You need to know what is the foundation of your hope.

A scripture I came across not long ago during my daily Bible reading is from Psalm 42:11,

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

I think this is the answer to our query here as far as what you need to be the source of your hope.

The Psalter suggests we choose God. And, that’s what he does through this piece of scripture.

Also, notice that he acknowledges that his soul is cast down, and it’s in turmoil within himself.

Being aware of your state of being (mentally, emotionally, and spiritually) is where you should always start.

Next, go with what the Psalter suggests: “Hope in God.”

The idea of “God,” implies a being that is immutable, inalterable, eternal, and holy.

In other words, the notion of time cannot apply to who God is.

And, that alone makes God the best source of hope we all need.

If you place your hope in anyone or anything rather than God, you’ll always be disappointed.

People have a beginning and an end. And, so does everything else in life.

I am choosing to put my hope in the One who doesn’t change, and nothing or no-one can alter. So, where do you put your hope?

How to Establish a Sense of Hope that Nothing or No One Can Alter

Now, we all know that God is the source of hope that nothing or no one can alter.

To put our hope in God requires choosing to believe in God. Have faith in God.

Next, do like the Psalter: “praise God.”

What that means is the following. First, throw everything you’re going through at the feet of Christ. You do it through prayer.

And, do it every single day. God wants you to pray without ceasing. God also wants you to choose be grateful (1 Thessalonians 5:17-19).

To praise God also means to acknowledge that God is always in control. It’s to revere God.

Make it a personal discipline to show gratitude for who God is, and what God is capable of doing for you, even when you don’t see it yet.

Last, present your whole ‘self’ as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God. Do it every single day also as a personal practice (Romans 12:1-2).

In Conclusion

Even though life seems to be bigger than you, and what happens to you seems to be beyond your control, know that God has never given up on you. Choose to put your whole trust in God’s hands. God has your back. People who put their hope in the Lord never get disappointed.
